He’s been a regular guest on BBC Radio Manchester for almost 20 years, and started his own personal radio show 'The Dave Sweetmore Show' in 2015 on Revolution 96.2, before joining Tameside Radio in 2020.

His show has regularly featured guests such as Status Quo, Frank Turner, Stereophonics, Shed Seven, James, Travis to name just a few.

As a stadium announcer and DJ for the English Football League between 2001 and 2022, based mainly at Rochdale AFC, he won many accolades and awards from the likes of Sky Sports and the BBC. Sky Sports named him 'The Best ever DJ / Announcer In Football'. He gave up this position in June 2022 to concentrate more on live events and radio, and in leaving this position he attracted worldwide media attention, including in the New York Times, where they named him ‘the inventor of British Rock n Roll football’.

Since 2018 Dave has also been the presenter for online tv channels MMTV and Mancunia TV, programmes which showcase the best in Manchester music, sport, creativity, and inspirational people.

Dave started covering the Tameside Radio drivetime show in October 2022, before accepting the position full time in January 2023.

You can hear Dave every weekday on Tameside Radio between 3pm and 7pm, featuring his Weekday Jukebox, his ‘Guess The Track Maisie Mc’ feature, plus regular special guests.

He also presents his well-established long running ‘Dave Sweetmore Show’ every Monday night, alongside Laura Beth, between 7pm and 9pm, featuring classic indie anthems from across the decades, new music, and weekly guests and features.

  • Dave Sweetmore - 18th July

As far as influential bands with longevity go, The Farm can easily be classed as one of our all-time great British bands. Over 40 years since forming the journey continues, with the recent news that the band have now been signed to the highly respected Modern Sky label.
