The Tames

From Monday 3rd June onwards, band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are The Tames. They take their name from the area they were formed, Tameside, and were brought together after lead singer Joell had decided to move on from being a solo artist to forming a band. Calling in three musical friends, whose music influences were 'similar but different', the band found themselves inspired mainly by the likes of Catfish and the Bottlemen, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, and The Black Keys.

The Tames aim is to produce songs and guitar riffs that people will remember forever. Debut single 'Lately' is available now on all usual steaming platforms, and although the band may not be making a huge racket on the local music scene at the moment, it hopefully won't be long before they are.

The Tames will be played on every weekday show on Tameside Radio between 6am and 7pm. They also joined the team on The Dave Sweetmore Show on Monday 27th May, you can listen again via the OnDemand section of the website.
