Nine Violets

From Monday onwards, band of the week on Tameside Radio's Local Music Spotlight feature are Nine Violets.

The band are an authentic Indie band that originated several years ago. Since forming, the band have embarked on a journey of creating and performing their own original material.

The band is led by hugely talented cousins Paul Copley and Matt Johnson, Matt being a pro musician who now also fronts hit recording sixties band The Fourmost. Nine Violets have so far been selective with live dates, but their annual highlight as a band is gracing the stage of Liverpool's legendary Cavern Club each year, a venue that holds great significance to both Nine Violets and The Fourmost, as the spiritual home of heroes The Beatles, and as a venue, The Fourmost were regular performers at in the sixties.

Nine Violets live gigs are full of energy and excitement, and a band who hopefully we will see and hear more of over the coming months. The band are a fusion of indie rock and alternative pop, with a heavy influence of the great bands of the indie and rock n roll world from across the decades, and amazing Britpop scene. Nine Violets will be played on every weekday show on Tameside Radio between 6am and 7pm all of next week.

The band also joined the team on The Dave Sweetmore Show last Monday night, you can listen again via the OnDemand section of the website. For more information on Nine Violets, the Local Music Spotlight feature, and a link to the official Spotify account which features all bands and artists who have been included so far, visit www.tamesideradio.com

On a side note, next Friday (26th January) will see us take our popular 'Local Music Spotlight' feature to Whittles Live Music Venue in Oldham, for a live celebration of twelve months of the inspirational feature. I'll be hosting and DJing on the night, and playing live are Alex Spencer, North Blood, Scapegrace, Kaiden Nolan, The Sprats, The Notion, and The Marbellas.

We will also be recording the night to be broadcast as a special programme and podcast at a later date. Tickets are £8 each and selling well, remaining tickets can be bought from our website, tamesideradio.com.
