Banking services available locally when NatWest closes in Glossop

NatWest in Glossop will close on 2 March.

NatWest customers are being reminded of alternative banking provision available locally once the Glossop branch closes.

The banking giant wrote to its customers in October to inform them that the branch on Norfolk Square, off High Street West, will close its doors for the final time on 2 March

It will leave the nearest NatWest branches in Hyde and Stalybridge.

But the National Federation of SubPostmasters (NFSP) is highlighting that customers will be able to use nearby Post Office branches on Norfolk Street in Glossop, Pennine Road in Simmondley and on Winster Mews in Gamesley for some business.

Each of these branches offers banking services - including deposits, free cash withdrawals and balance checks, as well as offering face-to-face access to government services, bill payment, foreign currency, travel insurance and, of course, postal services.

NatWest said the decision was made as the vast majority of its retail banking services could be carried out online, but it was branded 'disgraceful' by local residents on social media when the news first broke.
