Moston Brook who began the season as favourites to win the Premier League title after a great win pre-season against LAL champions Little Lever, suffered a first day setback and were give a great hint of how tight the division might be as they went down 4-1 to North Walkden last week.
There is more early-season evidence that the Premier League could turn out to be extremely competitive as Brook took on newly promoted Shaw Athletic.
Moston took the lead mid-way through the first half but Shaw drew level just before half time.
Shaw then went ahead through a Moston own goal before Moston equalised with a Jack Ward penalty.
It was left to teenager Harvey Roberts to score a 25-year screamer and claim all three points for Moston with a close 3-2 win.
North Walken continued their great start as they took on Hattersley, another side new to the Premier division, and again enjoyed a comfortable 4-1 victory to become the early-season pacesetters.
Abacus Media stay level on points with North Walkden as they posted their second win by 3-1 at Salford Vics.
The other game saw Milton win a local derby with Rochdalians by 6-1
Just two games completed in division one as the match between Newton and Bedians was abandoned due to an incident provoking a clash between most of the players.
Bury Ams picked up their first points of the season with a comfortable 7-3 win over High Lane.
Manchester Polonia were also on easy street as they kept an immaculate clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Mellor.
The league opens up into fuller action this week with a full programme of games for the top five divisions.
