James HK

About James:

When I was in my early teens I used to pretend I was a radio presenter when I had my CDs on at home, so I guess that must’ve stayed with me because now I have a real passion for it haha! I’ve studied at university and held down a job as a barman at Manchester Arena for 4 years but now I feel it is time to find a career for me and that is right here, entertainment!

I’m tall and skinny which is always the first thing people notice when they meet me but I don’t mind as it has it’s uses ie getting milk off the top shelf for old people in Aldi. Despite being loud and chatty on the airwaves I’d say I’m quite shy at first when meeting new people but when the walls have broken down, I could talk for England!

Other passions include television, particularly Doctor Who, and I am a Manchester United supporter however this has become rather difficult of late…

Get to know James:

  1. What fictional place would you most like to go?

"Terrabithia! Because it can be whatever you want it to be"

  2. What skill would you like to master?

"Being able to say a bit more than “hello”, “thank you” and “is there a McDonalds here?” when I go to another country"

  3. What songs have you completely memorized?

"There’s quite a few to be honest. In the car I sing along to the guitar and bass as well as the actual words! I was a drummer in a few bands when I was younger and still jam from time to time to get another band going but I can’t write music haha. One I’ve memorized that’s really fun to play is Gold On The Ceiling by The Black Keys!"

  4. What would be your first question after waking up from being cryogenically frozen for 100 years?

    “Is Doctor Who still running?”

  5. What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?

"Nothing beats hanging out with a few friends or family but throw in a bouncy castle covered in fairy liquid and water you’ve got yourself a deal! A ball pit would be great too!"

  6. What is the most annoying question that people ask you?

"Can we go Nandos? Like I have nothing against Nandos but if I’m paying £18 for a chicken and a drink, I don’t wanna have to get everything myself! Ask me to go spoons any day!"

  7. What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?

"Seeing where I can go, get to in my career. I love music so bringing back Top of the Pops would be great or kids television would be amazing (something like Dick and Dom, I just need to find someone to be my Dick (obviously, don’t publish this joke haha))!"

  8. What would you rate 10 / 10?

    "ME!"
