Robins re-sign Hardy

Ashton United have completed the signing of winger James Hardy on a permanent deal from Macclesfield.

Hardy comes in on a deal which will see him remain at Hurst Cross until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old initially joined The Robins on loan in late September, before being recalled by his parent club in late October.

During this time, he made seven appearances for the club, scoring on two occasions.

Hardy’s signing was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, and he was thrown straight into action that night, making his second debut for the club in an away trip to Ilkeston Town.

It only took the forward 18 minutes to make his mark on the match, tapping in from close range to level up the scoring at 1-1.

Steve Cunningham’s men went on to draw the match 2-2, winning themselves a hard-earned point ahead of their away trip to Atherton Collieries this weekend.
