National Track Championships: Jack Carlin is back on track

Hoping to achieve even more success, Jack Carlin.

Stalybridge based cyclist Jack Carlin is ready to get back on track as he prepares for the 2023 National Track Championships.

He was propelled into the spotlight in 2021 after securing a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games, but now Jack will join Britain’s best track riders in Newport for this prestigious competition.

He will be looking to retain his national titles in the sprint and keirin events, but will be challenged by Great Britain Cycling teammates Ali Fielding, Hayden Norris and Matt Rotherham.  The British cycling squad had grown from strength to strength recently, building a team of incredibly talented athletes across a range of disciplines.

Jack will be joined by fellow Olympic and Commonwealth success stories, including Sophie Unwin, Neah Evans and Katy Nicholls, who is making a return to the sport following the birth of her son just last summer.

Taking place at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales, the event will be huge for these cyclists, who are hoping to earn enough points to qualify for Paris in 2024.

Jack will race on Saturday (28 January) in the men’s sprint events.
