Droylsden continued their excellent run of form with a convincing 3-1 win over Stockport Town, which saw Dave Pace’s side climb up to 6th in the league table, within touching distance of the playoff places.

The Bloods needed a stoppage-time equaliser in the reverse fixture but wasted no time this time around. December’s player of the month Ben Lowe capitalising from a defensive mistake to score within the opening two minutes.

Fuad Kasali then doubled the home side's advantage, a lobbed through pass resulted in him looping the ball over the keeper for his third goal of the campaign. Droylsden were in firm control going into the break at halftime.

And there was no let-up from Droylsden in the second half, George West made it 3-0 from the penalty spot following a foul on Fuad Kasali. However, the Bloods had a man dismissed for kicking the ball away during the celebrations.

Stockport did pull one back but ultimately it was only a consolation. A wicked deflection from Henry Bongwanga took the ball past Morgan Piper in goal.

Droylsden is now unbeaten in the league since mid-October and still has games in hand on those around them. A win against fifth-place Abbey Hulton United on Saturday would see them move into a playoff position.
