The Lanceley Salver was held early in June and this was won by Dave Woodward of division two who posted a remarkable 61 followed by Mark Jozefczyk’s 64 and Ian McMurtrie’s 65. Division one went the way of Ricky Wood’s 65, one clear of Duncan Pike in second with Carl Chester taking third on 68.

The next major to be held was the George Furniss trophy and this was decided after another card play-off. Chris Mountfort and Duncan Pike finished with a stableford score of 45 points, just edging out the team of Mike Townend and Mark Crompton on the same score. Third place went to Alex and Graham Dodd who ended the day on 44 points.

The Sidebottom Cup went to division two’s Graham Singleton who came in with a great score of 7 up. John Wilkinson came second on 3 up with Adam Longson finishing just behind him on the same score. Division one was won by Jason McCabe’s 4 up, one ahead of Alex Clayton in second and Max Hartshorne in third after both players had finished on 3 up.

The ladies’ section held its annual Spring Cup competition and this was won by Rebecca Hodgkins with a 71. Second place went to Brenda Carr’s 73 and Dee Kuczaj took third on 75.

The Moss Cup was a closely fought affair with the top three players all finishing on 72. After a card play-off the honours went to Nicki Spacey, followed by Gill Dyson in second and Brenda Carr in third.

A stableford competition resulted in Brenda Carr leading the way in division one with 33 points, two ahead of Annette Hudson, and division two went to Margaret Baron who also scored 33 points followed by Annette Hudson’s 31 in second.

Another stableford event led to Dee Kuczaj winning division one with 35 points, well ahead of second placed Joan Hanson’s score of 25, and division two was taken by Sandra Batey on 31 points, again well clear of the second placed payer, Margarter Baron, who finished with 25 as well.
