Two charity nights are being held in Glossopdale to help raise funds for good causes chosen by the High Peak Mayor.

Each year, the mayor picks charities to support and this year High Peak Mayor Councillor Ollie Cross is supporting The Hummingbird Project, Glossopdale Foodbank and High Peak Community Arts.

The first event is at Hadfield Conservative Club this coming Saturday (4 March) and the second is at Glossop and District Golf Club a week later on Saturday 11 March.

Cllr Cross said: “Any support for either event would be gratefully received by Gill and I. Even if you cannot make it, we would be eternally grateful for any local resident or business who can help in other ways such as donating raffle prizes etc.

“We hope to raise as much money as possible for three very worthy causes over the next couple of weeks or so.”

On Saturday (4 March), a charity night with a raffle, a quiz, races, food, and live music with the fabulous Tom Wynne is being held at Hadfield Conservative Club on Woolley Bridge Road. It starts at 8pm and tickets are £3.

Cllr Cross said: “If you fancy joining us for a fun filled night with excellent company then please don't hesitate to contact Jane on 07807 872559.”

The following week, Saturday, 11 March, a charity night is being held at Glossop and District Golf Club, with a buffet and entertainment from DJ Tony Lewis.

The event starts at 7pm and tickets are £25. There are limited numbers available so, if you want to go along, contact julie.fawkes@highpeak.gov.uk  or telephone 0345 129 7777 ext 2016.
