A number of planning applications have been submitted to High Peak Borough Council, which include:

  • Proposed rear dormer extension and loft conversion at 64 Old Road, Tintwistle
  • Two storey side extension and single storey rear plus demolition of flat roof garage at 9 Gisbourne Drive, Chapel-en-le-Frith
  • Provision of GRP Substation on land off Hayfield Road, New Mills to serve a new housing development
  • Ground floor extension to form wheelchair accessible accommodation and utility space at Cadster Mill, Chapel Road, Whaley Bridge

Plans approved

Plans that have been given the go ahead and approved by High Peak Borough Council include:

  • Proposed single storey rear extension at 63 Hurst Crescent, Glossop
  • Single storey extension and internal alterations at Hayfield Cricket Club, Market Street, Hayfield
  • Single storey side and rear extensions at 23 Longmeade Drive, Chapel-en-le-Frith
  • Two single storey extensions at Overhill House, Fernilee
  • Extension of existing clubhouse at first floor level and part ground floor to form a gym and changing room facilities at Buxton FC’s Football Ground, Silverlands, Buxton

Tintwistle Community Hall plans approved

Proposals to create a new community hall in Tintwistle are a set closer after planning permission was granted by High Peak Borough Council.

The plans will see the existing building on New Road demolished and replaced with a single storey Parish/Community Hall/Bowling Club facility.

Industrial units planned

Plans have been submitted for nine new industrial units to be built on land in Hadfield.

The application is to develop the land off Graphite Way, to create the new units for Industrial / Storage and Distribution uses, and associated parking.

Campsite plan withdrawn

Plans put forward for a campsite in Tintwistle have been withdrawn.

The application submitted to High Peak Borough Council was for a change of use of a field at Crossgate Farm, Crossgate Lane, Tintwistle to campsite.

The proposals also included replacing an area of hard standing and muck midden to a car park area.

Property plans refused

Plans to extend a property in Whaley Bridge have been rejected by High Peak planners.

The application was for a single storey rear extension together with a front and a rear dormer at 150 Buxton Road.

The proposals were turned down as planners determined that front dormer would unbalance the semi-detached properties to the detriment of the visual character of the existing house and the wider street scene.

All of the plans are available to view on the council's website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
