ROUND-UP: Planning applications in the High Peak

Proposals to divert a public footpath in Glossop are among the applications in our latest round-up.

A number of planning applications have been submitted to High Peak Borough Council, which include:

  • A new dwelling on land adjacent to 61 Temple Street, Padfield
  • Proposed new bungalow on Talbot Road, Glossop
  • Proposed change of use from mixed use of Class B2 (General Industrial) and warehouse/storage and distribution use (Class B8) to entirely general industrial use (Class B2) at Unit 2, Jubilee House, Turnlee Road, Simmondley, Glossop
  • Illuminated signage at boundary at Unit 17, Etherow Industrial Estate, Woolley Bridge Road, Hadfield, Glossop

Footpath diversion proposed

Plans have been submitted to divert a public footpath in Glossop.

The application by Glossop North End Community Club has been made as the current route would take the footpath through the centre of a junior football pitch being created as part of efforts to upgrade sports facilities.

The proposal is to divert the path along the existing footpath that runs along the sites’ boundary and along the paved footpath next to Cemetery Road.

Plans approved

Plans that have been given the go ahead and granted permission by High Peak Borough Council include:

  • Retrospective application for a storage shed within the existing beer garden area at Howard Arms, High Street East, Glossop
  • Rear extension at Winterfell, Padfield Main Road, Hadfield, Glossop
  • Proposed extensions including single storey rear, double storey front extensions/adaptions and widened driveway at 180, Simmondley Lane, Simmondley, Glossop
  • Demolition of existing single storey rear extension and construction of a replacement single storey rear extension at Wilshaw, Whitehough Head Lane, Whitehough
  • Single storey rear extension with balcony over at 11 Old Smithy Road, New Mills
  • Timber garage at 116 The Manse, Old Road, Whaley Bridge

All of the plans are available to view on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
