Primary school art work to celebrate Heritage Week

The Friends of Victoria Hall will soon be holding their second Children's Art Exhibition.

The exhibition will showcase work undertaken by local primary schools to celebrate local history as interpreted by the children.

Last year was a huge success with many pupils taking part, not just learning about the history of their local areas, but also experimenting with different mediums.

During the exhibition this year, there will be an opportunity for people to discuss their heritage with two genealogists who have kindly offered their free time for the children to carry out some initial research into their family history.

The exhibition will be open to the public to view on Saturday 9 September between 10:00 and 16:00, and again on September 16.

Friends of Victoria Hall said they hope people will take the opportunity to view the 'wonderful' work on display by local primary school children.

To celebrate the Heritage Week there is also an evening of music with Glossop Ukulele Group, plus a set from Occasional Sax later in the evening.

Tickets for this can be purchased by contacting kay-fovhglossop@outlook.com at a cost of £5 per ticket. A bar will also be available at the event.
