As the report reveals, I was cast into the role of film actor and possibly appearing on the screens of TVs in more than 72 million homes across America.
A film company based in Los Angeles had become the latest to make a programme on the Longdendale Lights and they were particularly interested in Bleaklow.
The film-makers were trying to shed light on an alleged ghostly sighting around the wreckage of the Super Fortress which crashed at Higher Shelf Stones in 1948, killing the entire United States Air Force crew.
It all revolved around the day in 1974 when walker Gerry Scarratt found a wedding ring at the crash site belonging to the pilot Landen Tanner.
Gerry was with friends who claimed they saw the ghost of an airman appear behind him as he rummaged around the wreck.
“I saw nothing,” said Gerry who was at the shoot.
“They were convinced they saw someone in uniform.”
The film-makers decided to create a reconstruction and brought along an authentic USAF uniform, Keith Swann from Dinting taking on the role of the phantom pilot.
I was one of six ramblers who were filmed running away terrified following their ghostly sighting.
Did the film in the ‘Places of Mystery’ series hit any of those 72 million TV screens.
I am afraid I have no idea.
