New town and parish councils elected in High Peak

Local elections saw a number of seats on town and parish councils contested alongside High Peak Borough Council.

In a post on Facebook, they said: “Thanks for all the support for our candidates. And for those we have yet to convince - please judge us by our actions over the next four years! Let the hard work begin as we see what we can achieve for New Mills!”

In the Ollersett ward, where the turnout was 28.33 per cent, Davey, Matthew Donovan, Beth Eadie, Simon Evans, and Katy Pearson were elected.
