New Mills Volunteer Centre given boost by community group

A new community group has raised £450 to support the valuable work of the New Mills and District Volunteer Bureau.

The funding raised by New Mills Together at their recent ‘Sweets for a Cause’ event has been welcomed by NMVC.

Befriending Coordinator Fiona Stanier said: “We are so grateful to receive this donation from New Mills Together.

“We run a number of social groups and activities for people in our local area and rely on the kindness of our local community to make them happen.”

She said they wouldn’t be able to provide the services they do without the support of those who raise funds for them.

New Mills Together is formed from a group of residents who want to contribute towards an improved Town Council that works effectively for the benefit of the community.

They aim to collaborate with other people and groups that have an interest in making sure New Mills remains a great place to live, work or visit.
