New funding boost to tackle anti-social behaviour

Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster

Organisations across Derbyshire will be boosted by a further £100,000 of funding to tackle anti-social behaviour.

The funding pledge was announced by Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner Angelique Foster.

"I am pleased to support our communities once again so that local residents can take proactive measures and play a part in helping to improve community safety," she said.

"This makes a tangible difference to the quality of life in our neighbourhoods.

“My fund has not only helped communities to overcome persistent problems by increasing security in public spaces, it has also helped to address the root causes of offending by offering young people support and mentorship – often through sport – to change their behaviour in the long-term."

Previous rounds of funding were announced in 2021 and 2022, where parish councils, charities, community groups and voluntary groups could apply for funding.

The grant will run between 17 April and 25 May and will allow organisations to apply for up to £5,000 to tackle anti-social behaviour in their areas.
