A woman who sustained a knee injury near the Pennine Way on Joseph's Patch was helped by Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.

The team was contacted by North West Ambulance Service on Monday afternoon (26 June) at 3.10pm.

After an initial assessment, the woman's knee injury was splinted and pain relief was administered.

Team members loaded the woman onto the team stretcher and carried her back to a team vehicle at Glossop Low.

She was then driven back to Blackshaw farm and transferred to a friend's car, who took her to hospital.

The team stood down at 7.10pm.

GMRT - which receives no direct government funding - is continuing to appeal for donations to help ensure its volunteers can continue to turn out day and night to rescue people in wild and remote places.
