A local horse rider from Charlesworth , Tayla Lewis has qualified her horse Lostock Uptown Funk ,(Stevie for short) For the most prestigious Equestrian show of the year, The Horse Of The Year show, which is held at the NEC Birmingham in October every year.

Stevie was bread in Charlesworth by well known Coloured Horse  breeder Mrs Caroline Hamilton , who sold  him to Tayla at 6 months old. He then began his journey growing up and on into the ridden and eventually showing career. Tayla has worked incredibly hard over the year producing Stevie in all weathers , both before and after work. Competing him up and down the country over the years as he grows and matures.

Tayla qualified Stevie for Horse Of The Year Show gaining her ticket at the Chaps Midland Regional show. Tayla tells said that "Stevie (Lockstock Up Town Funk ) is the only horse to win the In-hand championship here for 3 consecutive years ."

Tayla is hoping to sit amongst the placings at HOYS this year, Competing against the best of the best, in what is described as an Arena Of Dreams as every horse or pony owner dreams of qualifying for HOYS.  This will be Stevie’s third appearance at HOYS and he will be accompanied by two other horses , Custom Made The Watchman ,and Chathills Strawberry Girl ,who Tayla has also qualified this year.
