After not having her hair cut for two years, a Hayfield youngster is getting the chop to help the Little Princess Trust charity.
Harriet Bagshaw is donating her hair to the charity, who use real hair to create wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer or another condition, to help restore their confidence and identity.
The Big Chop takes place on Saturday 22 October and, along with donating her hair, Harriet is raising sponsorship to support the charity.
It takes hair donated by five people to create a single wig, and each costs £550 to make.
So far Harriet’s efforts have smashed their initial target and have so far seen more than £1,800 donated.
Harriet’s mum Kirsten said they have been blown away by the support that has been shown.
