Glossop will be left with just one bank when NatWest closes its doors for the final time on Thursday 2 March.
The move follows an announcement back in October that the bank was closing its two High Peak branches – the Buxton branch closed on 14 February.
The loss of the Norfolk Square branch will mean that across the whole of the borough there will be just six branches representing five banks and building societies.
Lloyds has branches in New Mills and Glossop while Halifax, TSB, Nationwide and the Nottingham Building Society have branches in Buxton.
NatWest customers will be able to access limited banking services at the Post Office on Norfolk Street in Glossop, Pennine Road in Simmondley and on Winster Mews in Gamesley.
These services available includes making deposits, free cash withdrawals and balance checks.
However, you cannot open a bank account or deal with specific enquiries about your account without going to a NatWest branch. When the Glossop branch closes, the nearest NatWest branches will be in Hyde and Stalybridge.
NatWest said the decision was made as the vast majority of its retail banking services could be carried out online.
When the closures were announced, Dawn McKenzie from Citizens Advice Derbyshire Districts said: “Having less access to financial services will only increase financial exclusion, particularly for the most vulnerable in society.”
