Former Derbyshire County Council site in Glossop sold at auction

The property on Talbot Street.

Derbyshire County Council's former High Peak Social Service Office in Glossop has sold at auction for more than twice the guide price.

The stone build property on Talbot Street had a guide price of £200,000+ plus fees and was sold on 24 November for £515,000.

What the new owners will do with the offices and car park sitting on a 0.1399 hectares (0.346 acres) site is not yet known.

SDL Property Auctions in their sale catalogue said it could be suitable for a number of uses such as bespoke residential dwellings, a nursery, or offices, subject to necessary planning consents.

The building, which was formerly a primary school, has been empty since 2016.
