Exhibition to celebrate High Peak Community Arts anniversary

High Peak Community Arts is celebrating its 40th anniversary with an exhibition next week.

A lot of time has been spent digging through the archives, sorting through decades of different art projects.

Now a bright and colourful exhibition of posters, photos, films, and memorabilia will be on display at Providence URC Church on Mellor Rd in New Mills on Thursday 10 November.

You might spot yourself, friends, or family among the old photos, or remember going along to see a Community Play in the 1980’s, seeing their Giant Puppet in the 1990s, listening to stories in our yurt in the 2000’s; or seeing their Public Art across the High Peak in the 2010’s.

The free exhibition open from 2pm onwards will feature regular showings of their anniversary film.

For anyone not familiar with community arts it is the perfect chance to find out what it is all about.

A short AGM will be held at 7.30pm – with plenty of time after the main meeting to see the exhibition and the film celebrating and reflecting back on 40 years’ achievements.

Refreshments will be available all afternoon and evening.
