On Saturday 4th March talented local choir, The Pennine Singers are performing their spring concert “Sing Joyfully” at 7.30pm in Glossop Parish Church.

The programme consists of pieces from the sacred and secular repertoire to include works by Bruckner, William Byrd, Palestrina, Rachmaninov, Vaughan Williams, John Bennett and a setting of “Do not stand at my grave and weep” by Joseph Twist which the choir were privileged to sing at the recent funeral of Vivienne Westwood.

The choir are very much looking forward to working with their new conductor Emma Delany who makes her debut at Saturday’s concert. Emma takes over the helm from Elizabeth Brocklehurst, who has led the choir for several years in many successful concerts with her excellent musicianship and expertise.

Tickets are available on the door for £10 and refreshments will be served during the interval.
