Councillors are set to meet on Tuesday (21 February) to formally set the budget and council tax for the coming year.
High Peak Borough Council will meet at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton and are expected to agree to increase the borough council’s portion of the council tax by 2.9 per cent, a rise of £5.96 for a band D property to £211.36.
Council tax is made up of precepts for County, Borough and Parish Councils, the police and fire service.
Derbyshire County Council, who receive the largest proportion of council tax, have already announced a rise of 3.75 per cent.
The share going to policing will increase by 5.96 per cent and the fire service by 6.19 per cent.
High Peak residents who live in parish areas pay an additional amount to their parish or town council.
