Teddies drop in to boost Mossley church funds

A group of brave teddies tackled a daring challenge after parachuting from Mossley's St George's Church tower.

Gathering the courage to climb to the top of the tower, the teddies were gently catapulted down to the ground by Church Wardens Nigel and Jim Mellor.

The Teddy Parachute Jump event was held recently with owners paying £2 to register their Ted. Some teddies were even sponsored to take part.

Prizes were given to the teddy that flew the furthest and the teddy with the best parachute design. Little Ted took home the first trophy and Primrose the Owl was awarded best parachute.

Both winners received a special certificate as well as a themed goodie bag.

Due to the showery weather, stalls and refreshments were available inside the church.

This list included a tombola for church funds, a chocolate tombola and three artisan businesses selling delightful homemade products.

The event was enjoyed by all and raised just over £200.
