Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary’s Santa Sleigh is on the last week of its tour around the towns.

Last year’s restrictions meant the popular tour - and biggest event in the fundraising year for the local Rotary team - simply couldn’t go ahead.

But that has only made this year’s tour all the more special.

Dukinfield and Stalybridge executive secretary Julia Taylor   said: “It’s been fantastic to be back and people have been so generous - it has been a fantastic response.

“For our club Dukinfield and Stalybridge this event funds our activities for the year and we can raise up to £7,000 which is amazing.

“That money is ploughed back into the local community through various projects like the tea dances held each week at the New Labour Club in Stalybridge which has been wonderful to get people back into socialising again.”

Julia explained last year may have been rather different but the club did still receive grant support and some good donations, and continued with various fundraisers where it could and met regularly via Zoom.

Last year it continued with its Dragons’ Den event to support deserving causes and held a local heroes awards, both of which will be back again next year.
