Police release image of suspect over attempted burglary in Stalybridge

Police are appealing for help to find this suspect.

Police investigating an attempted burglary in Stalybridge have released an image of a suspect they want to speak to.

Greater Manchester Police's Tameside South and West team say it's in connection with an incident on Puffingate Close in the Carrbrook area on Thursday 9 December at around 3.30am.

Inspector Lee Derbyshire said he understands the image isn't of great quality but it could still prove valuable in identifying who is responsible.

"I'm ready here for some stick re how can we expect people to be able to identify someone from an image like this, but we've had valuable information leading to arrests and convictions from worse," he said.

"It can start with a name (or nickname) or address/area and can quickly lead to other substantive evidence being found and developed.

"Is this someone you've seen around, who lives on your road, or has been in your shop etc?"

Anyone with information can pass it on anonymously quoting log 2995-09122021 to https://crowd.in/68dEoo or instead call 101 or report it on the GMP website at https://www.gmp.police.uk/
