One killed and two seriously injured after Droylsden collision

A woman has died and two other women have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a horror crash in Droylsden. 

Emergency services rushed to Haddon Hall Road at around 12.15pm on Thursday afternoon (21 October). 

Police say it is believed that a driver, a man in his 70s, lost control of his vehicle and collided with three pedestrians.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Two further female pedestrians have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

GMP say no arrests have been made and the driver remained at the scene to assist with their enquiries.

Haddon Hall Road, North Road and Lewis Road are all closed and people are being asked to avoid the area.
