Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that another 26-year old-man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released on bail.

A 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have also been released under investigation.

Just after 11pm last Sunday evening (9 May), emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the junction of Bayley Street and Bridge Street.

Enquiries established that a Ford Focus had driven through a give way section of the road on the industrial estate on Bayley Street, before colliding with an Audi A3.

Police believe that three other passengers in the Ford Focus fled the scene.

The driver of the Audi - a 24-year-old man - suffered minor injuries.

Philip's grieving family have paid a heartfelt tribute to "a loving son, a loyal brother and caring uncle and a proud and attentive dad to his four-week-old son with his partner."

A JustGiving page set up by Bradley Wilson, a friend of Philip, with the aim of raising £2,500 to help his new-born son Reggie has almost reached its target. You can donate by clicking here

A number of moving and personal tributes - including many messages, bunches of flowers, balloons, and Manchester United scarves - to Philip have been left at the scene of the crash by loved ones and members of the public.

Officers say they are still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, and are urging anyone with information to please get in touch.
