Christmas delight in Ashton

Ashton Town Centre will be lighting up for Christmas this Saturday.

The Christmas lights will be switched on in Ashton on Saturday amid a day-long ‘Frozen’ themed event.

Family celebrations take place from 11am to 6pm and include an Artisan market with singers, entertainment and funfair.

The day will be packed with family fun, including a Frozen character trail, the chance to meet Frozen characters and have your pictures taken.

The Market Hall will be open until 7pm.

Meanwhile the Ashton Town Team have been delighted to supply some battery lights to help some  of the businesses in the town centre with their Christmas displays thanks to sponsorship from McDonald’s.

Jonathan Hinsley, McDonald’s Business Manager, said: “It’s been great to get involved with the Ashton Town Team and help brighten up the town centre this Christmas.

“Shopping local this Christmas will support all businesses in and around the town centre to thrive. Ashton has a great variety of shops and retailers suitable for all your Christmas needs!”

Other attractions include Laurel & Hardy, Frozen tribute singers plus Arnfield Brass Band with the switch on at 6pm in the Market Square.

Don’t forget you can park free in the town centre after 3pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays!

There are still a limited number of light sets available for independent retailers.
