Silver medal for Glossop archer Hazel Taylor

Talented Glossop archer Hazel Taylor has once again landed her shots on target after winning a silver medal at the European Cup.

Impressing locals last year with her stunning Tokyo 2020 Paralympic performances, Hazel has captured the hearts of many and continues to amaze with her shooting talent.

Missing out on competitions throughout spring and summer due to injury, Hazel says she wasn’t expecting greatness in her recent competition.

“I was almost looking at the European Cup in Czech Republic as a practice event for the European Championships in Rome next month.

“I went to Czech with the mindset of trying to just enjoy shooting and learn what I still needed to work on. However, I ended up shooting my personal best score and I have spotted where I could pick up even more points in upcoming events,” she said.

Taking part in the Recurve Open Mixed Team alongside David Phillips, the pair knocked out some incredibly tough teams, going on to win a silver medal.

Previously winning a bronze medal together, they were over the moon to continue progressing and moving up with their performance.

Preparing for the European Championships in Rome, Hazel will now begin thoroughly training for the event, feeling an extra boost of confidence after her Czech success.

Making her Paralympic debut at the Tokyo games last summer, Hazel plans to reach the Paris 2024 Paralympics and will be working extremely hard to get there.
