Sammy-Jo's Potential is 'Limitless'

A dance instructor from Ashton is taking the next step on her business venture.

Sammy-Jo Boulton, Blaze Street Dance Academy director, has enjoyed so much success in recent months that she's been forced to host extra sessions at a new venue in Stalybridge.

Set to launch in September, the new dance lessons will be hosted at Bower Fold, home of Stalybridge Football Club.

But before that time comes, Sammy-Jo is preparing to take her current crop of dancers, Team Limitless, to the BDO World Championships in London. However, with a £3,000 cost, she is appealing for the public's help to make it happen.

The group needs to raise a minimum of £3000 for accomodation, tickets, travel and other necessities.

Speaking to Reporter Sport at a training session on Saturday morning, Sammy-Jo said: “The full weekend will run from Friday-Monday, and while they’re in London they will compete and take part in workshops conducted by big choreographers.

“We’ve launched a Justgiving page but we’ve also completed our own fundraising challenges. Some of the parents completed a 58-mile bike ride from Manchester to Blackpool, and we’ve also got sponsorships so everything is coming together nicely.

“The kids are ready for the competition. They work so hard and train three times a week, so I really want them to enjoy the experience of competing on a big stage, but that’s only possible if we can raise the money so we need to give it a big push.”

On the popularity of the business and the future expansion, Sammy-Jo said: “Because we’ve had so much interest we’re launching classes in Stalybridge in September. There has been a lot of demand for more classes, and while we’re moving to Staybridge the main classes will still be running at our current facility in Ashton.”
