A fundraiser to help a local cricket club get back on its feet after a heartbreaking pipe burst has received massive support from generous benefactors.
Hadfield St Andrew's Cricket Club, whose first team are preparing for a new season in the Greater Manchester Championship, were hit with a major problem earlier this month when a water pipe burst in the social club, causing major damaging and flooding to the carpets and furniture.
It came as a major blow for officials, players and club volunteers, as the social club had undergone major renovation work throughout 2022.
Disheartened but certainly not out, club officials quickly dusted themselves down and launched a fundraiser to help with the costs of rectifying the problem at the earliest possible opportunity.
Being a community focused club, Hadfield host several events throughout the year, on a regular basis, to maintain their ties with the community. As well as facilitating a youth club, Hadfield also host the All Stars and Dynamo Cricket Programme - an initiative created to usher in the next generation of players to the club.
