Match Report: Glossop North End Community Club 7-0 Horwich RMI

Glossop North End Community club completed their inaugural season in the Manchester League with a convincing home victory and a show of intention for what is to come for this team and club!

Horwich will be promoted to Division 1 finishing in the Top 3 and defeated Glossop 5 nil in the away fixture and have an experienced squad.

On a warm day at Cemetery Road both sides started strongly but an early Fergal O Grady goal gave the blues a good start. Horwich continued to create chances going wide before Josh Pearson latched on to a misplaced pass and scored the second on 35 minutes, adding a third just before half time.

Bar the goals there was little in the game, Horwich still creating and a physically strong side with a strong bench.

Both sides were well matched at the start of the half before another fine finish from Josh Pearson for his hat trick put the game to bed. Horwich's frustrations boiled over picking up a red card. Harry Vennard impressed throughout the game and created further chances, Pearson adding his fourth before O'Grady smashed home for his second (22 in the season) and AK winning a late penalty which O'Grady converted.

Glossop ran out comfortable winners at the end of an exciting season in which they have played 33 games, finished 12th in division 2 and are looking forward to building on this for next season.
