Glossop Cricket Club’s North Road was a hive of activity on Sunday, as hundreds of people flocked through the gates for a family fun day.
Blessed with clear blue skies and scorching temperatures, the event, dubbed ‘Chairman’s Keg Day’, started in the morning with a junior tournament, which was contested between the under 9s from Dinting CC, Woodhouses CC and Thornham CC, before a special T20 fixture took place between a Glossop XI and a selected XI from the Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League.
As well as a barbecue and fully stocked bar, the event also had a bouncy castle and entertainment for the whole family.
The day took place, in part, to mark the unveiling of a new, digital scoreboard, provided by club president Roger Mays (pictured centre left).
Commenting on the day, Glossop tweeted: “Massive thank you to everyone who came down to North Rd today - it’s been a belter and we hope you enjoyed it.”
