Well dressings on display in Hayfield

Eight well dressings inspired by the seasons are now on display in Hayfield.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the stunning displays located throughout the village until Sunday (10 July).

A blessing of wells service took place on Sunday (3 July), starting at Bank Street and accompanied by Thornsett Band

The procession made its way through the village before ending at St John’s Methodist Church.

In addition to the Well Dressing, a flower festival is also taking place at St John’s Methodist Church. It is open daily, with refreshments being served, until Saturday 9th.

Well Dressing is unique to the Derbyshire area, with Hayfield and Little Hayfield among the more than 80 towns and villages that take part in this ancient custom.
