There will be plenty of fun in New Mills at the end of the month. August 27 will see the return of the ‘Torrs Youth Festival’.

The well established one-day festival pulls together everything that is good about New Mills with the organisers creating a mini youth festival with all the elements you would find at a larger music festival.

The event location has its own natural stage and amphitheatre sited in the stunning Torrs Riverside Park next to the River Goyt and is complemented by festival stalls to keep visitors refreshed during the day.

Alongside the live music and food and drink, there are also festival stalls and non-music entertainment to keep people fully entertained - with everything from circus skills and stilt walkers, rock climbing to hands-on art and textile activities.
The event is free to attend and the music stage gives local teenage singers and bands the opportunity to play in front of an outdoor live audience, many for the first time.

The event organisers said: “New Mills has so many fantastic clubs, activities, and facilities that are on offer and where better to share them than this natural gorge right in the centre of New Mills.“Everyone is really looking forward to sharing everything that is good about the area and creating something special for our young people,” the organisers added.
