New Mills solicitors donates thousands to The Christie

A solicitors’ firm has donated over £18,000 to The Christie to support its expanded Bloods Closer to Home service.

Chafes Hague Lambert who has a branch in New Mills, made the donation from dormant funds where historical clients couldn’t be traced to return any leftover balances to.

All avenues are explored before an application was made to the Solicitors Regulation Authority to release the money to charity.

Robert Brindley, Managing Partner at Chafes Hague Lambert said “We explored every possible way of ensuring the money is given to the rightful owners but when our leads were exhausted, with the approval of the SRA we were delighted to give this money to The Christie Charitable Fund to support the Bloods Closer to Home service.

“We have been donating dormant funds to The Christie since 2012 and have now donated close to £100,000. It is always an honour to support such a worthwhile charity and we are always delighted to do this for The Christie because so many of our employees’ lives have been touched by their amazing effort and support”.

The Bloods Closer to Home Service means Christie patients who need to have blood tests during treatment can get them sone much closer to their home rather than having to travel to The Christie.
