A High Peak store failed a test purchase into the sale of knives that was carried out as part of Operation Sceptre.

Two young people who volunteered to make these test purchases entered 10 stores in total and attempted to buy various knives off the shelf.

Police were pleased that all but one shop - which hasn't been named - refused to sell the items to the teenagers.

The premises in question will now be re-visited by Derbyshire County Council's Trading Standards, who will consider a prosecution.

During the week, police and partner agencies carried out a number of visits to schools and youth clubs and host community meetings.

A knife amnesty was also held in various locations and 115 were handed in to police for their safe disposal.

The activities were held as part of a week-long nationwide operation to tackle issues around knives and weapons.
