High Peak MP Robert Largan wishes for a clean start in the Conservative party

High Peak MP Robert Largan has said he chooses to support Tom Tugendhat to become the next leader of the Conservative party.

When Boris Johnson announced that he would be resigning as party leader on July 7, potential candidates jumped to action to state how they would reform the Conservative party.

One of those candidates is British politician, Thomas Tugendhat.

Elected as Member of Parliament for Tonbridge in 2015, he was re-elected to represent these areas in both 2017 and 2019. Now running for party leader, he says the nation needs a ‘clean start’.

He believes that the Conservative Party must be a ‘broad church that anyone can find their home in, whether young or old, northern or southern, renter or owner’.

Tom plans to pull together a broad coalition of colleagues that will bring new energy and ideas to government and bridge the Brexit divide that has dominated recent history.

Serving in the Armed Forces before becoming an MP, Tom says the government must work for the people once again.

High Peak MP, Robert Largan has voiced his support for Tom’s campaign.

“Tom has what it takes to rebuild trust in our politics, tackle the cost of living crisis and reunite the country,” he said.

Results of the Conservative Party leadership election are set to be announced in September.
