Blue-themed events are taking place to support hospice care in the High Peak, and it is not too late to get involved.
#GoBlue – hosted by Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen’s Trust – encourages people to support their local hospice charity from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 March.
Supporters can wear blue clothes, accessories or fancy dress; organise a blue-themed party or event; celebrate with colleagues at work by decorating the office in blue or complete a challenge dressed in blue.
Activities taking place throughout the week include a bike ride and bake sale at The Palace Hotel in Buxton, #GoBlue display at Arden House Medical Practice in New Mills and a tombola in the Blythe House and Helen’s Trust reception.
On Friday 24th pupils and staff at Hayfield Primary School are having a #GoBlue non-school uniform day.
Then on Saturday 25th there is a Sportsman’s dinner with Ray Parlour, former Arsenal player, at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. During the day a #GoBlue tombola and raffle is being held at Blythe House’s Buxton shop on Eagle Parade
Money raised from the campaign will go towards providing free of charge care and services to families across North Derbyshire who are affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement.
