Twenty seven drivers will receive letters of advice about speeding after being caught driving above the speed limit on a busy road in Hadfield.
The Hadfield Community Speed Watch Team were situated on Woolley Bridge Road on Wednesday afternoon (26 April) between 3.05pm and 4.05pm.
The speed limit there is 30 miles per hour.
In total, 467 vehicles went by the team during the hour. Of those, 27 were recorded driving at a speed in excess of the speed limit.
The owners/registered keepers of these vehicles will receive letters of advice on this occasion about their speeding.
"Speeding is one of the leading causes of collisions on Britain’s roads, as well as the reason why they are more likely to cause serious harm to those involved.
"Remember, Speed Watch is a community-based, education-centred scheme that helps ordinary people make a significant contribution to improving the safety of our roads."
