Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) has been ranked 36th in the 2023 Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List.
Now in its eighth year, the Inclusive Employers List showcases the top 50 leading organisations working across all strands of diversity including age, disability, gender, LGBT+, race, faith, and religion.
DFRS is proud to have achieved a ranking within the Top 50 and is among three fire and rescue services to have made the overall list.
The Service recognises the ranking is a drop in position compared to the 2022 index but remains committed to championing and celebrating diversity within the workforce and beyond.
Area Manager Clive Stanbrook said: “A Top 50 ranking is a great achievement for DFRS and evidence of the work taking place across the Service to develop a positive culture, welcome challenge, and encourage diversity in recruitment, development and promotion.
“The Service has faced significant challenges in recruiting to the specialist roles needed to drive our inclusion strategy forward.
“But regardless of this, and testament to the strong foundations we have built over many years to recognise the importance of inclusion at all levels and push forward with change, we have been able to maintain our position among the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers.”
