Date confirmed for return of Glossop Victorian and Heritage Weekend

The date for the delayed return of Glossop Victorian and Heritage Weekend has now been revealed.

Glossop Round Table, in conjunction with a committee made up of local residents and Glossop Heritage Trust, is encouraging residents to 'save the date' of 27, 28 and 29 May.

The group will be celebrating the heritage of Glossop and its Victorian links, as well as celebrating Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee.

More details will be announced shortly but anyone interested in helping with the event or any local businesses interested in supporting the event can get in touch with the organising team via the Facebook page @GlossopVictorianweekend or email info@glossopvictorianweekend.org

Glossop Victorian Weekend had been the town's number one attraction for 30 years.

Originally organised by Glossop Arts and Leisure Association, the final Victorian Weekend took place in September 2009.

Our reporter Gill Garston has spoken to Ed Siddall from Glossop Round Table about the Glossop Victorian and Heritage Weekend. Listen to the interview below...
