Some of the UK's finest military bands were in the High Peak at the weekend to take part in the Buxton Military Tattoo.
After a two-year absence, a spectacular line-up entertained audiences for two performances held at the Devonshire Dome this year raising funds for the Royal British Legion.
Among those who attended were High Peak Mayor and Mayoress Ollie and Gill Cross.
Councillor Cross said: “It was a wonderful experience. The magnificent venue gave the audience the opportunity to experience the powerful spectacle of the Buxton Military Tattoo closer to the action than at any other Tattoo in the country.”
Among those featured were the British Army Band Sandhurst, home the world-famous Royal Military Academy, The Band of Nottinghamshire Royal Engineers, and the Military Wives Choir.
Making a welcome return were the Pipes and Drums of The Scots Guards Association. The event also saw performances from younger musicians with the Band of Manchester Wing of the Royal Air Force Cadets and Stockport Sea Cadets also taking part.
The Mayor thanked all those involved including Musical Director, Captain Laura Stead, and Narrator, David Meller, as well as Chris Thornton and the Team who organised the event.
He also praised members of Glossop Army Cadets who were on front of house duties. “They're a total credit to our local community.”
