Community groups and organisations are being encouraged to join in the next Mossley SOUP event.

SOUP is about the community giving back to itself to support ideas and projects which are of benefit to the area. It’s a simple two-way approach to support the well-being of Mossley.

The next event is on Thursday 17 March, at Emmaus in Longlands Mill, and organisers are still on the search for projects wishing to present and bid.

Mossley SOUP is a fantastic opportunity to secure up to £1,000.

Those who can present at Mossley SOUP include:

  • A Mossley resident with a great idea
  • An artist wanting to do something creative within the town
  • A group of friends keen to improve the local environment
  • Existing community groups wanting to expand a local project or start something new
  • A charity keen to make a positive impact
  • A Mossley resident wanting to start their own business
  • An existing Mossley business with a new idea
  • Anyone who can present anything as long as the idea is about Mossley, its residents or from one of its residents.

Mossley SOUP is a great way to raise money, build community support and get connections to local resources that can help carry out the project.

If anyone has an idea in mind and want to see it happen, you can share it at http://bit.ly/MossleySOUPapply

The application process is simple and organisers can support groups if they need it.

On the night each project pitch lasts just four minutes  in front of a friendly audience.

Although there is only one winner from four on the night, the benefits of presenting are immense - including increased awareness of the work and a platform for the things each group is doing.

It costs £5 to be an audience member and every penny of that and more goes directly to the winning community project on the night. Everyone involved on the night is a volunteer.

Visit the SOUP Facebook page for more information.
