Warning about Denton roundabout work motorway closures

Motorists are being warned about repairs and road closures around the M60 and M67 motorways in Denton.

National Highways will be carrying out work to repair junction 24 of the M60 at Denton and the anti-clockwise exit slip road at junction 23 of the M60.

The work involves resurfacing and replacing the road markings, road studs, traffic signal loops and bridge joints.

A National Highways spokesperson said: "Our aim is to ensure we keep the network safe and operational, as well as improving journeys for our customers."

Work is due to start on Monday 11 July and should take around three weeks to complete.

It will be taking place Monday to Friday and overnight between 8pm and 5am, extending to 7am on Saturday mornings.

As a result, there will be full overnight closures of:

  • M60 junction 24 exit and entry slip roads
  • M60 junction 24 Denton Island roundabout
  • M67 eastbound and westbound carriageways between junction 3 and M60 junction 24 Denton Island
  • M60 junction 23 anticlockwise exit slip road

In addition, the following roads will be closed at certain times to help engineers work safely:

  • A57 Manchester Road North (reservoir side) from Denton Roundabout to Oldham Street
  • A57 Manchester Road South (Sainsburys side) from Oldham Street to Denton Roundabout
  • A57 Manchester Road east and westbound between Denton Roundabout and Hulme Road

National Highways say localised signed diversion routes will be in place to ensure journeys are maintained.
