Tameside Jobs Fair to be held in Dukinfield this month

Local organisations with live vacancies and training opportunities are encouraged to exhibit at an autumn jobs fair.

The Jobs Fair is being held on Thursday, September 19, from 10am to 1pm and will be held at Dukinfield Town Hall.

This event, which is expected to see at least 600 job seekers attend, is being jointly organised by Tameside Council, Jigsaw Homes, Job Centre Plus, as well as sponsors Onward Homes and Robertson.

Onward is supporting the job fair by providing staff to volunteer at the event as well as transport so residents in Hattersley can attend.

Candidates attended the previous event armed with copies of their CV and nearly 100 applications for jobs were submitted on the day.

Employers who are currently attending include Betfred, Creative Support, Culimeta Saveguard, Autism Initiatives, NSL Services, Village Hotels, Tameside Council, Bardsley Construction, Tameside College Apprenticeships, Onward Homes, Robertson Group and Platinum Workforce.

Training providers attending include National Careers Service, Tameside ACE and Tameside College.

Free street parking is available near the venue and alternatively Dukinfield Town Hall has a car park which charges £1 for a full day.

Cllr Ged Cooney, Tameside Council Executive Member for Housing, Planning and Employment, said: “Our September Job Fair will give employers, recruiters and training providers the chance to meet job seekers from the borough and further afield. Tameside is an attractive place for employers and new roles are being created all the time. This event will be the perfect place to showcase what’s on offer.”
